Help finding Go kart wheels for pedal car project
Permalink

Hey guys I know this is a hot rod site but I figured I'd check to see if anyone had any go cart wheels laying around they wanna sell

My wife got me a old Murray pedal car for Christmas so I could build a little project out of it for our daughter her birthday is this weekend and want to give it to her as her gift from us . So I'm looking for some old go kart wheels so I can give it the tubbed out hot rod look so if any of you have any laying around and are willing to sell them let me know and let me know how much you want for them I'm not looking for new ones it's going on a pedal car so it's not like there gonna see any mileage lol

If this can't be here feel free to remove I'm just trying to find the wheels asap thanks

Any chance you could post roughly what height/width you are hoping to find?

Ya good idea I'm thinking between 6-9 inches high and width I'm not really sure but I'm pretty sure I can make just about anything work

I may be able to help except for a couple of issues ... I have a bunch of wheels/tires in my loft BUT I'm in panic mode right now, cleaning the house before I pick the wife up at the airport later today plus I am just east of Toronto so logistics comes into play if you're needing before this weekend. Reason I am wasting time on the internet right now? I am presently awaiting an email from the wife, hopefully letting me know where the beater bar thingy is for the vac cleaner hmm  This may not end well biggrin

I should add, they are not go kart specific wheels although you may be able to work with something I have.  Earliest I can look will be tomorrow at some point.

I was pretty excited there for about 2.5 seconds lol. I also have called the tracks they told me they couldn't sell me any because they are on a government recycling plan and all their tires have to go a recycling facility

I'll be checking my loft at some point today but I do know that i don't have any slicks of any kind. I only have treaded tires on steel wheels.

Are you specifically looking for slicks?

Another question ... are you looking for two rear "fatties" for the tubbed look while keeping the original front wheels/tires or are looking for a set of four wheels and tires?

Got up into the loft today and the tires I had in mind have an overall diameter of 13 inches (larger than I pictured in my head).  The other tires/wheels I have are similar to what a "hand dolley" would be equipped with.

Can furnish pics and measurements if you think they might work but 13 inch diameter "fatties" may not leave much room for the "driver" if you "slam" it biggrin

Any chance you would post a pic of what you're working with?

Sounds good.

Even IF I have what you wanted, getting them would be a challenge (potentially costly and time consuming).  The thought of Princess crossed my mind but I wasn't aware you had one out your way.
