Heard a "blurb" from Doug Ford this morning on news saying "are you tired of waiting for emission tests and wasting your time,stay tuned today" thing he's going to "TANK" it!!!! Perfect!!!

Bring it on. Very big misuse of everyone's time. The fuel spent driving around to get the test done is more of a point.
The time the public spends getting the test done is also a big consideration.
As most realize the % of vehicles that fail is the main reason this should be scrapped.
Revenue streams are being looked at all the time....so the next one to replace drive clean is ?

So are the MOE roadside test over as well. Drive clean never was a problem with the old cars but the MTO inspections were a concern. Not sure if anything has changed for hot rods or not. Ed

MOE rules are still in place, I expect always will be. You're still not allowed to pollute. Just drive clean program won't be wasting any more tax money.

The MOE roadside inspection program isn’t affected by the cancellation of Drive Clean, they can still enforce those laws. Also, MTO is already reviewing their “new” safety inspection Handbook due to many issues that have shown up, such as the requirement for Electronic Stability Control systems on kit cars or homebuilts manufactured on or after September 1, 2011. The Specialty Vehicle Association of Ontario (SVAO) met with MTO over this issue some time ago and it looks like MTO listened. No word on a timeline for this but at least they’re doing something.

Can see another "Law suit" coming for PC's from the garages that spent "tons of $ " for new equipment for the previous change in Emission testing from Wynne & the "Fiberals" !!!!! Agree whole heartly that it should be scrapped. Cap & Trade gone Emission test Gone!! Pretty Boy Trudeau may really get his "panties" in a knot over this & hammer Ontario with more CARBON taxes????

Maybe they'll have more time on their hands and they'll be doubling down on rods now.

I just drove to Port Perry and bought a 07 Yukon for 3000 . cheap because it would not pass Drive Clean :( good for me . We never had it here anyway

I have to wonder what happens now when the roadside inspector would normally demand proof it would pass..

where will he send you ?

and if you own a shop full of testing equipment is/are those roadside inspectors now your best buddies .. with potential kickbacks?

I've been pulled over three times by these clowns. Never once asked for proof it would pass. After I installed the cats, I went thru Drive Clean and passed. The second time I got pulled over a few weeks later, he tells me I need an EGR valve. I showed him the pass and he didn't give a S4!t.

For our old cars, they never care if it passes. They just like writing tickets and acting all cop because they flunked cop school.

All emissions equipment that was on it when it left the factory must always be on it and supposed to be functioning. Drive clean or not.

YUUP!!! My girlfriend's car needed it Nov.5th had to get it tested but they seemed to do a "quickie" and passed it???

Just read in my Canadian Truck News issue, that since emission testing is coming to an end in April of 2019 the MOE will be "stepping up" roadside checks of vehicles quote " to make sure car & truck owners are keeping their vehicles in compliance with Ontario's emission rules" !!! This looks like we can expect to have a "few" issues next year with being pulled over in our older vehicles????

You wont have any issues if you're compliant. You know the rules, just follow them !
