Drove the wagon down beginning of the month for show, somehow it "ate" the carb base gasket??? got a new one at Advance Auto $ 8.50 US Friend from Michigan took this from hotel window. That's my friend "Rusty's 70 Cutlass beside mine. Over 750 vehicles on the Boulevard, and wagon got picked by one of the sponsor's for an award " BONUS"!!! One sad event was on the Wednesday night Cruise in that kicks off the show a 57 Chevy 2 dr. Post was "TOTALLED" making a left turn on advanced light by new Camaro that ran the red at approx. 55 MPH both people in 57 went to hospital but were released later!!! Will post more pictures later .
I like the toboggan and snowshoes, nice touch. Did you have to explain that you only needed them to get to the border....after that you were good to go? I'm not far from the Sarnia /Port Huron border crossing. Used to see ski's on roof racks in the middle of summer from time to time, not so much anymore. Either they are cluing in, or gave up skiing, not sure!!
Man, I feel for the owners of the '57. I worked on our Falcon for 7 years. My wife ( girlfriend at that time) and I took it on a shake down cruise to Thousand Islands. Some moron from Pennsylvania tried to pass me on the right - while I was turning right. Took the entire passenger side off the car. I had to start all over. 7 years work for 7 days of enjoyment. To add insult to injury the cop - Richard Newburn ( yeah, I still remember his name) charged me.....
I went to court and won.....sort of. I still had to fix my car 'cause azzhole skated back across the border and my Insurance Co ( at that time) didn't want to go after him.
Some hard lessons learned by a 22 year old hot-rodder.
