They should be checking BMW owners. Can't belive anyone else would buy them.
Besides if they have the plates they should be able to find him shouldn't they. Ed

if like mine the guy tried to report them missing..

I had a set also expired in 2000 stolen off a car in storage

later I recieved a bill for a ride on the 407 to which I responded , never been on 407 , plates haven't been registered and are actually stolen

407 STILL had to have 3 bucks to close the account
but I digress

I wander over to 43 division to initially report my plates stolen

oh you have to go to service ontario and tell them

try two oh you have to report that online..

I get a message back
you cannot report this issue online

so if the metro toronto police don't have a freaking clue how to take a stolen plate report .. why does the foreign entity that has billing rights for the 407 know my old plate info when it hasn't been registered since 2000 (april)

and the cops can't figure out who owns these ??

you know I was already thinking I should send an email to the toronto chief of police' office

now I think maybe I will

When I lived in Scarborough, I got pulled over for no plates and got a big ticket. Didn't know the plates had been stolen. Was told by the officer to go and report them stolen so I went to Lawrence Ave station and reported and was told to go to Service Ontario. When I went to Service Ontario, I was told that since I had already reported to the police station, I had to take a form back to them and get it filled out and signed and then go back to SO. I did all this and because I had originally gone to the Police Station and not SO first, I ended up paying over $700 in fines and costs and they could not cancel the missing plate fine. Had I gone to SO first, I would have paid $72 and be over with it and then report the plates stolen. Nobody from ticket issuing officer to the desk sergeant mentioned this. I could make lots of comments at this point, but what's the point.

I went to service ontario

woman behind the counter said no you have to go back to the police stn for that

according to here they have nothing to do with the stolen plate report

probably some technology foul up .. no communication between S O and the cops .. of 407

The company that owns the 407 legally has the info on every plate out there . When I closed out my 407 transponder they had records of every licenced vehicle I,ve ever owned dating right back to 1976 including motorcycles and trailers .
