Each year for the past twenty-odd we've hosted a Craft Show on our property every Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Lasting 3 days, providing over 100 Crafters and seeing roughly 20,000 people.

We decided in June that the health and well-being of our community, our friends and neighbors was paramount so we postponed the show until nest year.

It wasn't a decision made flippantly, to a large number of Crafter's our show is an opportunity to make up some lost dollars over the summer, As well the general public must enjoy it, they come out in droves.

.
We've only had 1 instance of the virus in Vineland and it would have been irresponsible on our part to potentially expose anyone to Covid. I know there are still a lot of nay-sayers but the virus is real and not going away quietly.

My wife has driven school bus for 21 years, she loves it ( I could NOT do it) but this year she's taking a leave of absence until she's certain the 2nd wave has passed. As usual with the school boards, the bus drivers are at the bottom of the list when it comes to consideration so she is being extra cautious.

When you hear talk about Lawyers hanging in the background waiting to sue because someone was exposed needlessly it adds another element to the decision.

As a retired high school shop teacher still supplying in my local schools - my age says it's about time to hang up what I really loved doing. Covid has put my families health at risk so it's a no brainer with our age even though there will be a greater need for supply teachers this coming school yr. Sad experiment come Sept 8 !

Our oldest son teaches Renewable Energies at Niagara College, all of his course is going to be online this year. Our youngest son is working toward his Mechanic's license through Mohawk in Hamilton. He still hasn't heard how this semester's course will break out.

All the while the School Boards call all the shots, they tell the Bus Companies what where and how the routes will go each year. The Board members drive around in Mercedes........so we know they're underpaid.
