A friend of my father , they grew up on the same street as kids , bought an old farm in Owen Sound back in the early 70's
he and his wife built a nice new bungalow on the property and lived there many years
- his father had a cottage on the lake down along the shoreline and there was a private road through the farm to get to the cottages..
he was a genuine "car guy" and an avid model builder too
they sold the farm , it became a golf course..end of story .. or so I thought
when the house was built it had only a car port , a two car garage was added shortly after
so , one day I looked on google earth for the property
I got a nice surprise
the farm and house are long gone and it is indeed a golf course now but looking at the satellite view I see.. the concrete floor of his garage .. it's still there after all these years
I thought , NICE.. "uncle Bill" was kinda special and it's nice to see the floor he spent so much time on is still there..
I showed the picture to a friend who said .. "oh , that's cobble beach where I went to the car show...."
nice.. THAT would blow "uncle Bill's" mind if he were still here now to know this
I think he would be absolutely speechless..
pic is him and the model A that spent so much time parked on that slab in that long gone garage..
