Funny how time flys. It would appear that it’s been eight years since I last posted on this site. That suggests that it has been eight years or so since I have been really involved in hot rods ect. I guess that I have always had something to do with cars in one way or another. However, I remember a time when I was traveling all over Ontario and even into the states playing with old cars. That time of my life was a blast.
anyhow, I figured since it had been such a long time, perhaps a new or refreshed introduction would be in order.
So here goes.
I‘m 50 now. I still have a passion for old iron. Ok, maybe it’s an addiction……. I currently have four complete cars. One of which is road worthy, one very close, one now in need of a lot of repair and clean up due to a lengthy storage and a broken transmission cross member, and one that I just picked up for a not so far off rebuild date. The road worthy car is a 1955 Belair that I have been building/working on for the last ten years. The one that is very close is a 1962 two door Falcon wagon. The one that needs attention is a 1976 Cobra that I bought when I was 18 and the last one that I just picked up is a 1940 Ford panel truck, which funny enough I sold a few years back. When it came up for sale I had to buy it back…..
Aside from those vehicles listed I have been helping my dad fix up his 50 Merc pickup truck as well. I just changed the cam and lifter as the cam went out of it a month ago. While I was at it I bought a rebuilt AOD and stuck that in there as well. The truck needs the extra gear as it runs at 3200 rpm to maintain 100kms/hr and gas gets expensive running like that.
Thank you guys. I missed being around. Not that I posted a whole lot, but it’s nice to be able to see/learn what’s going on in/around the community and touch base with like minded hobbyists
