Just wondering who else is Insured through Hagerty ( Aviva for us Canadians now) for their car/truck/boat/bike and if so what you think of their test run to not publish their magazine in print but instead digitally?
I really enjoy the magazine and looked forward to each issue long before it arrived so when the past couple didn't I called them, thinking perhaps someone at Canada Post took a liking to it as well. Apparently they tried a couple issues online.
Now, I understand the cost of paper and print played a part in that decision - but my Membership fee didn't reduce as a result of their savings - so I expressed my thoughts to them.
As much as I enjoy this site - I don't like spending any more time on a computer or my phone than necessary. Then there's the fact that they off-laoded their costs directly on to the consumer ( us) through our Internet costs.
I like to sit down by the woodstove in my shop when time allows, with a buddy, one of my kids or grandchildren and peruse a magazine - Hot Rod, Street Rod, Car Craft, Popular HotRodding, Hop-Up, Skinned Knuckles, Dirt Racing.......aside from my own subscriptions I've got a bunch going back to the 50's that my Great Uncle Joe gave me. My grandson's find some of the early articles fascinating - and it gives me the opening to share stories about my Uncle Joe, his brother Teddy and others who were in the hobby years before they were born and are now gone.
You can't sit 3 or 4 around a computer - and if there's 3 or 4 of us sitting staring at our phones......well, it just looks dumb.
