I never tire of visiting Garlits' museum, I've been there 3 times over the years, but it's been awhile now and I'm due to go again. Maybe this spring.

Thanks for the 'refresher tour'!

Is Rob Potter from Hamilton?
'long time ago there was a Potter that sectioned a '39? Pontiac.
Then there was a Potter that had a large collection of gas pumps.

I have lived in Hamilton, originally from Dundas and now reside in Nanticoke but did not section the Poncho or collect gas pumps. I collect anything related to Canadian drag racing, model kits from the early days, milk bottles with Bordens, Pure Milk, or Dundas dairies.

I know of Terry Hayes, you couldn't be a car guy in Dundas without at least knowing of the Hayes brothers. Always tooled around town in nice rides.

It would appear that Ohio George's Hurst Gasser stayed in the USA.

I have a ton of pics, some I have had for a long time and have no idea where some came from or who took them.  If anyone knows people in the pics or who took them let us know because there must be a good story or some history.

 Running the "Original Mail Box"

I loved the Modified Eliminator Cars. When they replaced them with Super Gas a lot of guys just quit.

If I am not mistaken, that is Peter Nolan [Nolan Transmission] in the black Falcon. If you ever get the chance to go to his
100 acre homestead, try to keep your jaw from hitting the ground when you see his shop. A half hour visit turns out to be
at least a 2 hour hour tour of the shop with Peter commentating the whole time. I have been to his place at least 4 times,
always an enjoyable time.

 Sorry about the delay.

Rudy Held's Prefect was NOT, Ohio George's "Passer Gasser".

Rudy's "Gold Gambler" was built from scratch, in fact Ohio George and Rudy raced against each other a few times with the Prefects.

Rudy's "Gold Gambler" Prefect was sold to a Canadian, who still owns it, and is currently restoring it. The fellow is a drag racer, currently races a '80's Camaro (I believe), mostly runs at Sanair.

Last name Kovacs ( I think). I can get a definite on the name also, if required. I'll be back at the shop to pickup some goodies this week.

 Cheers

I see John Force in there.
I heard that Ford and Castrol will not be sponsoring him this year.

That wagon is a 63 Cutlass that came with the 215 aluminum engine. But like the Pontiac guys that were dropping 421s in the Tempest (same car) some Olds guys were dropping big blocks in these. Ran a kind of F/X class. This is where factory muscle really started, not the GTO.

2004 Road Trip to the York US-30 / Muscle Car Reunion.

  We took a  57 Chev ( Rustius - Metalus ) and a 57 Corvette ( Fiberglass Radio-Flyer )

A quick stop in Syracuse NY to check a heartbeat .

On the road.

Lower NY , the pulse is fine, it should make it.

 Lunch at a Diner.

Pine Grove Pa.   Look at all the stuff you can get in the trunk of a "Tin Car"

While at Pine Grove I decided to wash the car, You find the neatest things at a Car Wash !

We made it to York,  Nice stuff here.
