Well I got my new intake manifold on and even got it running with a lot of help from Wuga and Bill. But one of the things I learned from what I consider a major leap in understanding how my ride works is that once I have it apart, maybe I should keep going deeper. After putting everything back together we did...
What's up everybody, As I mentioned in my design work post, I entered a design contest over at Vans for a chance to have one of my designs made and to win some cash. Had to throw a little hot rod and kustom kulture inspiration in there. To get into first round judging your design needs to get votes. So if you h...

Hello all!! New member from Sherwood Park Alberta and first post from a long time car guy. I joined to keep tabs on my cousin Carl Hicks and see what's going on in the rest of Canada. For anyone thinking about rigging up a choke cable mount instead of waiting for one in the mail, I just made one from the stainless steel in an old bar-b-q. It seems to work ok but I still have to wait for the Stromberg rocket clip (unless I can figure out how to make one of those too).
I’m posting this for a relative so forgive me if it’s not technically a hot rod! It’s still a special car that deserves a good owner. 1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula. 5.7L V8, 6 speed manual, 130,000 KM (approx. 81,000 miles), not winter driven, no rust. Mature owners so far – the present owner is youn...
A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again, decided to leave a note, saying, "I've had enough and have left you...don't bother coming after me.Then she hid under the bed to see his reaction. After a short while, the husband comes home and she could hear him in the kitchen before he c...
Well - I have been on the back burner with projects for about 2 yers now - got into building a new house. I have wanted a Miagi car since I first saw th Karate Kid back in what - the late 70s - early 80s? Last fall I lucked into and bought a 47 Ford convertible driver quality car. Needed lots of love but it was a...
Progress on the Track-T grill shell is slow but that's ok. I'm learning I hope. I am trying not to apply too much pressure with the English wheel and just take my time with it. I might try to tighten the overall curve from top to bottom on the driver side with one or two more tucks at the top but I don't want...
I recently swapped an old and dirty Holley 2 barrel for a new tri power along with a new intake manifold. But the initial reluctance I felt when I stepped on the throttle remains pretty much the same. The car is hesitant to start though I am told it should turn over easily with a turn of the key. And when d...
Help! I’m hoping some members here might help me find a Hot Rod called “The Lemon Truck.” My Father, Jack Swanston, worked out of a car club garage in Oakville and built this Hot Rod in the late in 1960’s. I believe it was one of the first open model T’s to be shown at car shows and he won numerous class awards...

My old car has plenty of chrome on bumpers, grille etc, but my new car has plenty of plastic chromed. Is it possible to have plastic chrome plated at a after market shop like metal plating was done years ago?
I just learned a new tip that might help somebody else too. Take 8 small bread bag clips and number them 1 - 8 and throw them in the tool box. Next time you need to mark you spark plug cables, just attach the bread clips. Eezy Peezy. Neat eh ?
I'm always messing around trying and/or looking for less expensive, or easier ways of doing things. Sometimes you get lucky, and a lot of the time...not. Automotive paint is getting right out of this world for expense. So looking for a bit of a monetary break isn't that far out there. This little gimmi...
I have 2 Vintique rear view mirrors for 1935-1940 Ford passenger and 1948-1952 Ford trucks for sale. Never used, new in boxes. Ten dollars takes them. Also have 2 pieces of door glass for 42-47 Ford and Mercury trucks. Ten dollars also. Reply here or e-mail Randyr3554@hotmail.com
An idea has been suggested over on Canadian Rodder and I would like to carry it here.Since Canadian Rodder is primarily Western Centric, I felt it should be seen here as well in the primarily Ontario audience. The concept is bulk buying from Summit. We know they have the largest array and inventory...

Just wanted to share some of my auto related design work. A couple years ago I was lucky enough to do the design work for an auto competition show called Wrench Wars. It was created by a guy named Brother JD. He owns El Reys Garage in Venice California. He also had a show on Discovery for a while called Turn...

As most folks in the local hobby know the red Labatt's Streamliner is fully restored and resides in London, Ontario. Here are a few more. Not my compilation. Warren
Hi guys, my name is Mike. I just joined the forum. I own a couple 1966 Chryslers, but I like old-school rods, customs and finned cars too. Here is my Newport convertible. Originally a California car. I tried to post pictures of my Windsor 2-door hardtop also, but the system said my post was too long. I to...
Just a place to drop photos of some of the license plates I have restored for those who seek out restoration work, thanks to those who I have already done work for as well! Cheers, Chris.
So we went last fall to pick up a donor car from my sister in law so my daughter could start to build her version of a rat rod pickup. We bought a 1951 Ford truck cab that is fixable, two really nice western doors and a good first gen S-10 truck for the chassis. Kelsey was going to use the diesel out of it,that w...
Hey all, How's everyone's lockdown going? Just wanted to share some of the models I've painted in the past few years. Usually do one every winter after the car goes away. This one was actually a shift knob, that turned into a hood ornament.
