No, it isn't just a rumour. Chris came by my place one day and got to looking over my ride and made some wonderful suggestions, among them, how to fix my door window issue. My dash isn't from a model A so I could never open or close my door windows unless I opened the doors first. The dash was too close to the...
Hey All . Was talking to a guy on weekend . He has two cars that he was thinking to sell at Hershey PA . Has anyone here sold a car at Hershey . Is it a hassle or a realistic option ? Second question . For example an older FED style dragster that has no paperwork , ownership . How do you get that across border to...
Just putting this out there. Does anyone know of a place/venue where dirt/grass drags could be held? This would primarily be bangers and flatheads. The track needs to be 1/8th mile in length (660') and have space for camping, parking, spectating and possible vendors. Accessibility to local ac...
So talk at the local shows and cruse nights seems as you would expect to center around the stolen vintage/hotrod situation but something else seem to be getting notice is the influx of project vehicles for sale. Just wondering if it is actually a thing or just normal . If it is actually a thing, I would wo...

Well, call me silly but I think there might be more to tube bending than I figured. I got the right size die for my 16 ton tube bender but all didn't go well. Hmm ?
Hello everyone, my name is Brian, and this is my first post as a newbie to the forum. A little about me. I currently own/drive a 71 Olds 442, which has just recently undergone a 3 year restomod. I am the second owner of the car which I bought off of the original owner in 1981. Very enthused about getting h...
Hey Rick (Shag) I know he is up your way, do you know how I find Rob Bradshaw? I know he is in the Stirling/Foxboro area. Anybody feel free to chime in. Thanks Warren
I noticed that the radius on the inside portion of a brake rotor is the same radius I need for tube bending so I thought I'd see if I could make a die from an old rotor. Am I just wasting my time ? The old rotor was free and I don't have any bending dies for my 16 ton bender so what the heck, why not try. I cleaned u...
For those times when you feel like relaxing and watching a build, two of my favourites are Rat Rod Bob and Simon Says Garage on youtube. Bob is neat because he actually shows how to build stuff including making tools to get the job done right. Simon is entertaining because he shows his mistakes during...
Hello All, I am trying to track down my father's car. This is an old photo so it might not be in as good of condition anymore, I haven't seen it in about 14 years. its a 1923 ford C-cab Kit car. I see there are many EPS units available. Has anyone done an installation on a steering column with the shifter on the column. I do not want a floor shifter.Thank you.
Every time I get gas for my 42, it slops all over the place. I think it is because the filler pipe is at such a slight angle. The cap is on the passenger side but the filler pipe runs to the driver side. So I am wondering, is there some kind of gadget I can slide into the filler pipe every time I gas up BEFORE inse...
I am learning that sometimes small details matter in this pastime and sometimes they don't. With that in mind, I have been meaning to ask, when crimping a small connector, does it matter which way I crimp ? The split ring to be crimped can be squeezed against both sides of the split or across the top and b...
My neighbour has an AMC Javelin stored in his garage that's been there since the garage was built years ago. I ask from time to time if he is gonna get to it and restore it and he hums and haws. But this time he said he is thinking of letting it go because he has too many hobbies. I can relate but I guess it's pr...
Around the 7:30 mark, this video shows what looks like duct tape on leaf springs. Is it duct tape used to keep the salt from damaging the springs on the Salt Flats ? Stupid question ?

Is dialectric grease to be used as well as shrink wrap or instead of ? Maybe use the grease as well in open engine bays that are exposed ? Not sure ? I'll be tidying up this mess soon.
I noticed that whenever I watch people working around cars (theirs or mine) with a multi-meter, someone always has to hold the device while someone else works with the device or we get to see it being awkwardly used with the two cables precariously dangling near moving parts. It looked to me like a bit...

My best friend Keith and I are building a nostalgia altered powered by a 261 Chev/Pontiac 6 cylinder. He built the chassis at his home in Haida Gwaii, I joined him to finish it to this point and then I brought it back to Ontario to do the drive train. Here are some pictures of the build details so far
Looking for a Pontiac/Chev inline 6 cylinder 261. Rebuilt with the knowledge of condition and what was done or rebuildable. Preferably in Ontario or Quebec in the Ottawa region. Thanks Warren

Well I THINK i put everything in but I'm not sure. I think that's everything. There is no fuse box in trucks thi...
