I have dealt with 4 Krown outlets todate and our experience today in Port Hope was the best. The offices are usually filthy and cramped with nowhere close by to wait like a restaurant. But today we went to the Port Hope Krown and the office is clean and spacious and a TV and chairs (plural -that's a first t...

I was asked recently if I would sell an item for $200 and agreed to. I sent photos of the item and then sent photos of it packaged and then sealed ready to ship. I got a quote from UPS for shipping but not a written quote. UPS won't provide one until I actually ship because I was told shipping costs change so ra...

So I look out the shop window and thought I had bin transported back in time to the 60s in England. There were probably 10 to 15 all together Only thing missing for these Mods was the Rockers. What a fun thing to see on an otherwise dull day. Where is Austin Powers when you need him. Ed

Well there were a lot of rides and the weather was great. It clouded over a bit later in the afternoon but not enough to ruin the day. It was packed. It was a nice show to end the season.
I picked up a 41 Chrysler about 4-1/2 years ago. I didn't like the front end so I figured I'd simply change the headlights and take the point off the front. How hard could it be? I started by cutting some fender away and setting a 37 Ford headlight bezel in the hole. This is when the %#$# hit the fan.
Does a generator charge a battery ? I bought a new battery this spring and it's dead. I understand alternators charge batteries but why isn't my battery charging ? I'm tired of buying batteries !
Hi all. After being prodded to do so in my other post - here is my latest build. A 1973 AMX Javelin - was originally a 401 4spd car when it was born. I bought it as a roller out of Quebec as a drag car. Bought it sight unseen because it was so far away, and scarce to boot. Got it home and just about everything need...
I am in need of a pair of struts that can hold up the very heavy rear hatch on my 77 Ventura. I have tried my local Parts Source,CTC,NAPA but no luck . Just wondering if any one has any ideas. The old hockey stick prop I am using makes me a little nervous when unloading. Ed
Hey y'all. We're replacing the front end ( stock) on the Comet - then the Falcon. We ordered a pot full of stuff from across the river and everything was alright except the tie-rod ends. The ones they stock/sent look like they belong on an import, much too small. We'll gladly accept any suggestions from...
Sorry to post that I must cancel this year's meet. Future meets are not looking promising either. The ol back can't take much abuse anymore. I appreciate all those that have attended over the years.
Does anyone here have any experience with label makers ? I plan to rewire my whole damn car and I'm guessing some label makers are better suited to the task than others. Do they take different sized heat shrink ? Do they run out of ink fast ? Just wondered if anyone knows what brand works best. Not buying a...

I took the rod for a short spin to Keene and back. I haven't had it out for over a month and the weather is so nice. Anyway, the point is, nothing broke, nothing leaked, nothing popped open, nothing overheated. It all went well. I don't know if I can get used to this. And it was a beautiful sunny day. I must be...
They noted that 90% of all of the contamination passed through an air filter happens in the first 10% of the life cycle. Changing a filter more often than necessary is a waste fiscally and detrimental to the equipment.
a little off topic from filters but, lmao i am looking for a good used h-d tike if anyone happens to stumble into one. the ideal one would be something in reasonably good shape with a blown evo motor as i have a good spare motor from my s&s conversion on my 95. evo motors ran from the mid 80's till 99. ...

I see a lot of cars come through the shop that the customer has installed, or paid to have installed a new "cold air intake". The problem is that most of these "kits" actually suck in the hot air under the hood. Even better when they leave the intake air sensor in the cars fender intake so the computer thi...

Anyone put a Small Block Chev V8 (in my case a 350CI), Into a 1960 - 1962 Chevrolet C10 truck that originally came with a straight 6, 235CI engine.I have a 1961 Chevy C10 Apache Suburban that came from a military base near Huntsville Alabama. It had a 235 straight 6 with 3 speed manual trans. It had the “U” m...

How do we have so many members and we barely generate a dozen posts a week in all categories - has everyone lost interest or got too old or what???? This is the kind of apathy that is killing our gearhead culture Come on guys and gals - post whatever it is that is on your mind - or out in your shop, or is your...
I thought I had the wiring all sorted out but my alternator still isn't running. (I don't think I am repeating an old thread but maybe I am forgetting again.) I bought a Haynes repair manual and read it and I've watched a lot of videos on-line. Most deal with switching to a 1 wire. Of course I read my littl...
Funny how time flys. It would appear that it’s been eight years since I last posted on this site. That suggests that it has been eight years or so since I have been really involved in hot rods ect. I guess that I have always had something to do with cars in one way or another. However, I remember a time when I w...
I think the worst part of of this hobby is discovering a fuel leak and I just did. The filler pipe on top of my gas tank is very short but I managed to get 3 plumbers clamps around the base of it to hold the rubber sleeve on up to my filler cap. But it isn't enough. It leaks if I fill the tube. I can try not to fill th...
.......and I smoked a fattie before starting, this is the result. " Jim" is my cousin, he flies over now and then and snaps a pic so I wanted to say Hi to him. " Bob" is a neighbor, he flies in the Lanc and the B29 so whenever they're out they make a point of flying over here too, so I had to say hi to him too.
My door handles never quite worked right. The passenger side handle binds and won't open from inside unless I slam it with the palm of my hand while holding the inside handle up. I think the only thing wrong is that the two screws I use to hold the handle on are too long. I will test that theory today. I a...
I’m heading out tomorrow morning for the coast. Anyone else heading east for this show? I haven’t been there for a few years. It was a great show then so I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Hopefully the weather co-operate. The 55 isn’t done, but I think I’ll take it anyway. We’ll see if I’m able to straighten o...
I was up to Etobicoke this past tuesday to order up wrought iron railings for my front porch and then on to Oakville for a visit with a very good friend from the old days trucking, going through the cancer crap. First off, i hate driving up to Toronto anymore due to the volume of traffic and the all day con...
